Lights, Camera, Tease: 4-Week Burlesque Course:

Join us for an exciting 4-week burlesque course designed to unleash your inner performer! Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, "Lights, Camera, Tease" will guide you through the art of burlesque performance.

Course Highlights:

• Expert Instruction: Learn from an experienced burlesque performer who will share their tips and techniques.

• Performance Skills: Develop your stage presence, confidence, and choreography skills.

• Costume and Makeup: Discover how to enhance your performance with the right attire and makeup.

• Video Recording: At the end of the course, you will receive a professionally edited and stylized video of your performance.

What You Will Learn:

• Basic and intermediate burlesque movements

• Choreography creation and execution

• How to express character and emotion through dance

• Stagecraft and audience engagement techniques

Course Schedule:

• Week 1: Introduction and learn part 1 of your routine.

• Week 2: Choreography Development & part 2 of the routine. Character Work

• Week 3: Character work and Costume & Makeup talk

• Week 4: Final Rehearsal & Performance Recording

Everybody is welcome:

Open to all levels, these workshops welcome newcomers and seasoned performers alike. While the routines are beginner-friendly, the motifs and styling offer layers of creativity and challenge for experienced performers.

Our workshops celebrate all bodies, genders, ages, and backgrounds, providing a safe, fun, and inclusive space to empower and connect with your body, boost confidence, and explore the joy of movement and self-expression.

What you need:

• Comfortable Dance Clothes: Wear breathable, flexible attire that allows you to move freely. Gym wear, dance wear, fishnets, or lingerie all work—whatever makes you feel comfortable and empowered! We recommend avoiding corsets as they can restrict movement. Dress up or dress down, the choice is yours.

• Heels or Alternatives: Go for comfy, stable heels. Dance heels are recommended due to the fabric bottom, which can bring ease to your movements and can help with burlesque walks. Pleasers can be a little tricky due to the nature of gliding through burlesque movements. Drop me a message if you have any questions.

• For the performance: Feathers and gloves will be provided for the performance video ( not to be taken home ). You will need to provide your own black attire ( can be black fishnets, tights, trousers, bras, leotards, swim costumes, lingerie, stockings, any thing as long as its black ) Will discuss in detail during the course.

• Water Bottle: Hydration is your best friend forever and always especially whilst learning sizzling moves, most studios have refillable taps but incase there is no access to water please be prepared with plenty of water.

The studio is located approximately a 10–15 minute walk from Stockport Railway Station. The area is also well served by local bus routes, with stops nearby on Lord Street and surrounding roads.

Parking:

There is no dedicated on-site parking. Visitors can use nearby town centre car parks or limited on-street parking. Availability may be reduced during peak times, so please allow extra time when travelling by car.

Accessibility:

The studio is situated on the first floor of a shared building. Lift access is not confirmed, so access may involve stairs. If you have specific accessibility requirements please do get in touch.
