About the event

Manchester Are You Ready for a Day of Burlesque, Empowerment and Self Expression ?

Join Daisy DeVell on March 22nd 2026 at Jagers dance & events for three themed burlesque workshops— you can choose to join one, two or all three workshops.

Workshops:

  • Classic Burlesque:

Explore the golden age of tease through classic bump and grind and playful character-driven clownery. This workshop blends timeless glamour with fun, teaching the technique behind bump and grind while paying homage to the mid-century strippers and helping you shimmy like the O.Gs.

  • Sleaze & Tease:

Dive in dirty and discover the art of Sleaze & Tease. Learn how to combine attitude, rhythm, and unapologetic energy to create a performance that’s equal parts grit, empowerment, and seduction.

  • Stage Presence:

Dive deep into understanding stage presence and learn the DeVell Method for better confidence and charisma, on or off stage. This workshop focuses on performance skills, including body language, facial expressions, storytelling, and connecting with your audience. You’ll explore ways to bring personality, character and heart to every movement, transforming your routine into a fully realised performance. Perfect for both newcomers and seasoned performers

Everybody is welcome:

Open to all levels, these workshops welcome newcomers and seasoned performers alike. While the routines are beginner-friendly, the motifs and styling offer layers of creativity and challenge for experienced performers.

Our workshops celebrate all bodies, genders, ages, and backgrounds, providing a safe, fun, and inclusive space to empower and connect with your body, boost confidence, and explore the joy of movement and self-expression.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable Dance Clothes: Wear breathable, flexible attire that allows you to move freely. Gym wear, dancewear, fishnets, or lingerie all work—whatever makes you feel comfortable and empowered! We recommend avoiding corsets as they can restrict movement. Dress up or dress down, the choice is yours.

  • Optional Knee Pads: If you would like to protect your knees during the warm up and cool down. Knee pads are advised but are not necessity, we encourage for extra protection if the attendee has any knee injuries.

  • Heels or Alternatives: Go for comfy, stable heels OR feel free to dance barefoot or socks. Dance heels are recommended due to the fabric bottom, which can bring ease to your movements and burlesque walks. Pleasers can be a little tricky due to the nature of gliding through burlesque movements, but if you prefer to rock your please and feel comfortable in doing so then pleaser do. ( please note some studios don't accept heels to protect the floor, in this case bare feet or socks will be recommended )

  • Water Bottle: Hydration is your best friend forever and always especially whilst learning sizzling moves, most studios have refillable taps but incase there is no access to water please be prepared with plenty of water.

  • Snack: if you’re joining both workshops – fuel up and stay energised.

  • Note taking equipment: for stage presence workshop. I.E pen, pad, laptop, phone.
